Vocations in the Saints: St. John Vianney
Posted in Explore More
As National Vocation Awareness Week invites us to reflect on God’s call in our lives, we continue our series: Vocations in the Saints.
St. John Vianney’s path to the priesthood was anything but easy. Struggling academically and facing discouragement at every turn, he relied completely on God’s grace. What the world saw as weakness, God transformed into holiness.
Through perseverance, humility, and prayer, the Curé of Ars became a living witness to God’s mercy, drawing countless souls back to Christ through confession, counsel, and example.
For those discerning their vocation today, St. John Vianney reminds us that God’s call is not about perfection, but faithfulness. When we give Him our littleness, He works wonders through it.
“When we pray with attention and humility of mind and heart, we quit the earth and rise to Heaven.”
— St. John Vianney
